Contact Improvisation dance - outdoors
Join us for a vibrant outdoor Contact Improvisation dance session! 🌈 This is a sober and drug-free event focused on exploring movement in a natural setting. Simply press "going" or send a personal message to participate!
Event Details:
- Location: The lawn outside Riksdagen, Riksgatan 1, 111 28 Stockholm, Sverige.
- Jam Structure: Arrive on the lawn before the start time for a guided intro/warmup. The jam will commence after 1-1.5 hours.
- Everyone is welcome! If you’re an experienced dancer, feel free to join at any point.
We'll kick off with a guided intro where you will dance solo and in contact to reconnect with essential CI techniques and find your natural movement flow. After that, an open jam awaits!
Key Principles:
- Listening: Stay attuned to your movement in relation to your environment and fellow dancers.
- Free to Move: Enter or leave the dance at any time, and please step aside if you need a break.
- We encourage everyone to dance barefoot and in comfortable clothing.
About Contact Improvisation:
This dynamic dance form focuses on moving in and out of physical contact, exploring gravity and sensation. Developed in the 1970s in the USA, CI promotes unpredictability, reflex sharpening, and enigmatic interactions. It has now spread across diverse communities globally.
