🗓️ Meeting Point: Outside West Ealing Station at 11:00 AM. This gentle two-hour guided walk will uncover layers of West Ealing’s past and present, from historic routes to today’s dynamic neighborhood.
✨ Highlights of the Walk:
- Starting at the station, we’ll explore Stowell’s Corner, then along Manor Road, across Jacob’s Ladder into former Stevens Town.
- Discover the Green Man Estate and its history, mentioning the renowned Green Man Inn and Half Way House that once served travelers along the Oxford Road.
- Reflect on changes over time, from old department stores to a mix of contemporary shops and community spaces.
- We plan to include visits to local points of interest, such as the West Ealing mosque and the Assyrian Church (formerly St James), depending on availability.
- Stroll through Deans Gardens, historically known for donkey and pony races.
- Optionally finish at a local café for a chance to relax and chat!
🤝 Walk with a Purpose:
This is part of the Your Voice Your Town project funded by Ealing Council. We aim to help everyone feel safe, connected, and welcome in their neighborhoods.
