Join us for an immersive Contact Improvisation (CI) Training Intensive led by the talented duo, Karthik Rajmohan and Andrew Wass! 🕺💫 Over four engaging sessions, participants will deeply explore the principles of CI through personalized feedback and collaborative learning.

Format:
This is a closed group allowing for trust-building and skill development among participants. A solid foundation of comfort with weight sharing, inversions, and the fluid nature of movement is essential.

What to Expect:

• Technical Solo Material: Inspired by Steve Paxton’s practices, focusing on the spine's capacity for movement and response.
• Partnering Exercises: Techniques to enhance your movement vocabulary, including lifts, falls, and the transitions that connect them.
• Improvisational Dialogue: Learn how to engage in a fluid and creative dance conversation.

The ultimate aim is to foster a grounded understanding of self, ensuring safety within dynamic dance possibilities. Witnessing and providing feedback during sessions cultivates a shared awareness, culminating in a lo-tech/no-tech presentation of your work, followed by an open jam. 🎉

• Karthik Rajmohan: Dance educator with a rich background in classical forms, martial arts & somatic practices.
• Andrew Wass: Experienced researcher with a PhD in Dance, integrating cognitive science and philosophy into his teachings.
