Festival Evensong: A Great British Tour
Join us for a beautiful Festival Evensong, featuring a selection of music that celebrates the diverse regions of the British Isles.
The City of London Choir, directed by Daniel Hyde (of King's College, Cambridge), will be accompanied by Paul Greally at the organ, creating an uplifting atmosphere. This service highlights the significance of choral evensong in the rich Sacred Choral Music tradition of the UK, for which we are currently seeking UNESCO World Heritage Status.
Liturgical music is often inspired by its unique architectural surroundings, and this event will showcase works by renowned composers:
- Thomas Tallis: O nata lux, Preces and responses
- Sir James MacMillan: O radiant dawn
- Sir Charles Villiers Stanford: Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in B flat
Moreover, enjoy psalm chants and hymn tunes that reflect the great Welsh choral heritage. All are welcome to this church service, and we kindly ask you to register for a free ticket to help us manage attendance.
Expect a soulful experience lasting approximately 45 minutes!
