Græder ved havet البكاء على حافة البحر
Join us for a unique theatrical experience as Crying by the Sea (البكاء على حافة البحر) unfolds across continents! 🌍✨
Two audiences will enter their respective theatres simultaneously—one in Copenhagen, Denmark, and the other in El Kef, Tunisia. The only element connecting them will be a digital projection on the back wall, where they will be able to see each other.
This poignant performance delves into the deep sea of sorrow tied to socio-economic migration through poetic narratives that explore themes of distance, loss, borders, and longing.
Attendees will receive a script and be invited to read aloud from a text about crossing boundaries—both physical and metaphysical—alongside the audience in Tunisia. The reading will be available in Danish, English, and Arabic. Afterward, you will be encouraged to rewrite parts of the text, creating a new version to pass on to future audiences. 📜✍️
The production has grown from collaborative workshops held in Denmark and Tunisia, aiming to transform the theatre space into a vessel for communal grief processing and a meeting point for new connections. 🎭❤️
The artistic team has ingeniously created the live stream for the performance from scratch, establishing a self-organized online infrastructure for artistic collaborations. 💻🎨
