🌊 Crying by the Sea البكاء على حافة البحر

Join us for a unique theatrical experience as two audiences step into their own theatres on different continents simultaneously! Each venue will feature nothing but a digital projection on the back wall, allowing audiences to see one another across the globe.

This captivating performance explores the depths of sorrow connected to socio-economic migration through poetic narratives highlighting themes of distance, loss, borders, and longing. You will receive a script and be invited to read aloud about crossing borders—both physical and metaphysical—with the audience in El Kef, Tunisia. Feel free to read aloud in Danish, English, or Arabic. After the reading, you can contribute by rewriting the text to create a new version for the next audience!

Created through workshops in Denmark and Tunisia, the performance seeks to utilize the theatre space for collective grief processing and as a venue for fostering new connections and meetings. Our artistic team has meticulously programmed the live stream from the ground up, facilitating organized online exchanges for creative collaborations.
