Organised by Let's Talk About Climate Change
As we face unprecedented heat this summer, ever wondered about those most vulnerable in our cities?

🌍 Migrant communities across Europe are particularly at risk during heatwaves due to systemic inequalities and historical exclusion. Many are engaged in outdoor jobs such as construction and food delivery, exposing them to extreme temperatures. Moreover, their living conditions are often less equipped to handle rising heat levels.

🔍 In this enlightening session, hear from Fizza, a PhD Researcher at ICTA-UAB, who utilizes feminist and participatory research methods to explore how urban heat affects the daily well-being of migrants from the Global South. Fizza will share insights from workshops conducted in Athens, Greece, highlighting the voices of women and queer migrants who face the brunt of these challenges. Together, we will discuss the implications of these findings for Barcelona, emphasizing how community knowledge can aid in creating just, inclusive, and heat-resilient cities.

💖 We kindly request a donation to support our group’s annual subscription of 183.26 euros and help with venue costs. Contributions up to 5 euros are greatly appreciated, while participation is free for those with limited resources.
