Why are we called Jackies?
The name "Jackies" comes from the phrase "Jack Your Body," popularized by Steve “Silk” Hurley's iconic track released in 1986. As one of house music's groundbreaking hits, it introduced the term "Jack" that represents the unique dance style and the electrifying feeling of moving to the beat. This anthem reigned in Chicago’s nightclubs and quickly took Europe by storm, reaching number one in the UK in 1987.
