SPECIAL COMBINED GUIDED TOUR: The Titanic and Its Era + Women Aboard the Titanic
Mgr. Gabriela Nácarová, a professor of history and German, will guide visitors through the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries from a woman’s perspective, exploring her perception of revolutionary changes in technology, culture, and politics, as well as the transformations in women’s daily lives depending on their social status in society at the time.
Mgr. Evžen Nácar, professor of history and social sciences, lecturer and guide at the National Technical Museum, will introduce visitors to the era and major historical events surrounding the Titanic’s maiden voyage during a guided tour. You will thus not only become passengers on the world’s most famous ship, but also gain insight into world history, where the Second Industrial Revolution was drawing to a close, a wave of migration was shaking the world, and the seeds of World War I were taking root.
Both guides will complement each other during the guided tour, allowing visitors to learn even more than on standard guided tours.
Practical Information:
- The guided tour lasts approximately 60 minutes and is limited to 26 visitors. This preserves the exclusive nature of a private guided tour, during which visitors can ask the guide questions.
- After the tour, visitors are welcome to walk through the exhibition again on their own until closing time at 7:00 p.m., taking their time to read all the labels or listen to the full audio guide via the Smart Guide app.
