The prestigious international conference organized by Český rozhlas Plus: Fragile Security – The Future of Ukraine and the European Continent.
The event focuses on the conflict in Ukraine, the media landscape, and issues of European security; since its inception in 2023, it has established a reputation as a major forum for both experts and the general public.
The conference regularly attracts leading global analysts, politicians, and journalists and offers a unique opportunity to meet those who shape the discourse on security and international relations. Past participants have included, for example, American professors Timothy Snyder and Marci Shore, British analyst Peter Pomerantsev, former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko. Media coverage is provided by Czech Radio stations and websites, as well as partners within the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
The fourth edition of the Czech Radio Plus international conference will focus on the future of Ukraine and European security. What will the future of Ukraine look like once the guns fall silent? And what will that mean for the security of this country and the entire “old continent”?
Guests at this year’s event will include Nobel Peace Prize laureate Oleksandra Matviychuk, American journalist Simon Shuster, and Polish analyst Sławomir Sierakowski.
The program will also feature selected shows from Český rozhlas Plus. A new project on the trial of Nazi war criminal Karl Hermann Frank will be presented, and the program will also include a live recording of the show Pro a proti on the limits of free speech.
In the final segment of the main program, Czech President Petr Pavel will deliver opening remarks, followed by Valeriy Zaluzhny, former commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and current Ukrainian Ambassador to the United Kingdom. The so-called “Ukrainian lessons” for Czech security and the military will then be evaluated in a debate by Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces Karel Řehka.
