Lionfish Showdown! Saturday Edition

Now that we’re settled into our new home, we’re amazed by the number of lionfish residing right in our own backyard! 🏝️ These stunning—but invasive—species are wreaking havoc on our reefs.

Lionfish are classified as an invasive species in South Florida, with each female capable of releasing up to 2 million eggs annually! 🥚 With no natural predators in the area, their numbers are skyrocketing, endangering our juvenile reef fish like snapper, grouper, and parrotfish which are vital for maintaining a healthy reef ecosystem.

Join us in giving our reef residents a fighting chance! 🥊 Every Fourth Sunday, participate in the Lionfish Showdown on Delta’s Splash! 🐟 Whoever brings back the most lionfish will earn a free dive on their next adventure! 🌟 Removing just one lionfish can make a significant impact—let’s come together to clean up our reefs!
