Informed by Blaise Agüera y Arcas’ thought-provoking book What Is Life? Evolution as Computation (MIT Press, 2025), the exhibition presents Sheer Presence as an intrusion by entities—often animal or virtual—that disrupt the human experience. Referencing an ancient Tibetan Buddhist text, Roberts emphasizes how presence can profoundly influence and reshape our reality.
