Matthew Ryals + Stiv Heks

MATTHEW RYALS
is a NYC-based synthesist, composer and performer who frequently presents improvised concerts on modular synthesizer. He has released four albums and a number of EPs on 3OP, SØVN and Oxtail Recordings. His latest album, Exalge, was released on Infrequent Seams in autumn 2025.

Matthew performs extensively internationally, with recent appearances at High Zero Festival and Ex Nihilo Festival. He has collaborated with musicians including Madison Greenstone, NAVA, Dunkelman, Niloufar Shiri, Jonas Engel and many others. He also curates a Brooklyn-based experimental music series called Artifact.

STIV HEKS
creates playful, crisp and beautiful electronic music in a tangle of strange sounds and infectious rhythms. Stiv Heks, aka Einar Goksøyr Åsen, has been producing and releasing sparkling, singular cassette tapes since 2015 (as far as we know), and is a true original in Oslo’s underground scene.

His latest album, Kom I Form Gå I Oppløsning, is a melancholic, naïve and genuinely funny full-length released on vinyl via Metronomicon. It features 16 wondrous miniature compositions that stumble and wander forward with samples from circuit-bent synths and toys you once donated to the school marching band flea market.

Speaking of marching bands, Einar is also one half of the duo Samvær Under Tilsyn, where he and Øyvind Mellbye create everything from anti-marching electronic brass bands to audiovisual ping-pong experiences, wildspeaker systems and gleaming card games.
Stiv Heks is full of surprises and a spirit of adventure. It’s been a long time since we last heard him perform live, so expect the unexpected — and come along.
