May Writathon (Writing Marathon)

It can be helpful to write with other writers; see if that’s true for you! We do multiple shorter writing sessions over the day, so feel free to drop in or drop out as you see fit.

Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem, or just plain work stuff, you’re invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done!

SCHEDULE:
11:00 - Café opens (so if you're in town earlier, prepare to do something else until this time)
11:15 - Timer starts: write for 45 min
12:00 - Break
12:15 - Write for 45 min
13:00 - Lunch (to 14:00)
13:15 - Write for 45 min (optional)
14:00 - Break
14:15 - Write for 45 min
15:00 - Break
15:15 - Write for 45 min
16:00 - Event done (well done!)
17:00 - Venue closes

OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at breaks and afterwards. Writing is a solitary affair; connecting (and sometimes commiserating) with other writers can be rewarding!

BEING LATE IS OKAY: This is a drop-in, drop-out kind of event. Just look for a group with computers or notepads gathered in one of the rooms, and join the group of silently writing nerds.

What Shall I Bring?

Pen and paper or a (ideally charged) computer. A charging cable is recommended

• Headphones/earplugs if you desire a concentration bubble.

Other Important Details:
TECH: Some outlets are available, but no WiFi. Prepare your phone to hotspot if required.
TRAVEL: Subway to Hornstull or bus to Högalidsgatan or Hornstull.
GUIDELINES: Please buy fika or lunch from the café. We haven't rented the place or such, and so rely on being welcomed as good business for the venue.
