meta and her noises
A concert by meta and her noises will take place on the occasion of the opening of karolina ferkl’s exhibition at the RECesse Gallery. Admission to the opening is free, but concert capacity is limited.
meta and her noises is a 23-year-old singer, composer, and songwriter who finds space for honesty and powerful emotions in indie pop. Her music is like the soundtrack to the moment when you come home after a long day and pour yourself a glass of red wine—intimate, poetic, and uncompromisingly unique. Her work draws inspiration from icons like Lana Del Rey and Lily Allen, but meta and her noises transforms it into her own world, full of fragility and mystery.
Karolina Ferkl’s exhibition and screening explores the mechanics of subjective reality and the dynamics of constant change. The artist examines the asynchronous bubbles of perception and the absolute isolation of our inner worlds. She materializes these ideas through raw canvas and smudging ink. In line with a zero-waste philosophy, she integrates scraps and fragments of secondhand clothing into her compositions, representing our elastic nature and adaptation to external pressures. The discomfort of change is perceived here as essential evolutionary fuel.
The opening will be immediately followed by a concert by meta and her noises with accompaniment. The existential music of this project delves into the melancholy, isolation, and raw emotions of the human experience. These deep soundscapes naturally intertwine with the visual disintegration and fluidity of the exhibition. Both artistic approaches thus intensely underscore one another in a reflection of how fragile, isolated, and changeable our inner identity is.
An immersive projection of raw diary footage functions as a digital equivalent of ink and documents the fluidity of creation without any post-production.
