Join us for the MiniChallenge x Connection event!
What is it? 🤔
The MiniChallenge is a dynamic two-day social hackathon where you can team up to tackle real-life challenges. Organized by Helsinki Think Company and Sitra, it focuses on one crucial question: How can we make life in Finland feel less like 'everyone for themselves' and more like 'we're in this together'?
No technical expertise needed! Just bring your curiosity and creativity to collaborate with others.
You’ll be placed in a team and select from two challenge tracks:
🎓 Track 1: Learning and Wellbeing
How can we alleviate the pressure from constant choices and identity expectations, foster belonging, and create a safe learning environment for students and young adults?
🧑🧑🧒🧒 Track 2: Families and Generations
In what ways can we support family life and caregiving, making it less lonely and demanding, and more community-oriented?
Throughout the challenge, you’ll engage with a real-life target group, delve into their daily struggles, and brainstorm practical solutions or services tailored to their needs. Your ideas can be based on routines, peer support, and community practices—no technology or public funding is necessary!
This event is all about fostering creativity, teamwork, and human insight—technical skills not required!
All students, whether Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD from any background, are welcome! You can apply solo or with a friend, and we’ll form teams from solo applicants.
Before the MiniChallenge, don’t miss the related panel discussion, Rethinking Individualism – How Choice, Identity, and Community Shape Our Future on May 7. It provides insights on similar themes and sets the stage for the upcoming challenge.
