MUSEUM SHIPS WEEKEND - SPECIAL EVENT STATION N6MSO

Join us for Museum Ships Weekend 2026, showcasing the USS Lucid (MSO-458) from June 5th at 5:00 PM to June 7th at 12:00 Noon! 🎉 Dive into a unique global radio event organized by the Stockton Delta Amateur Radio Club and the Stockton Maritime History Museum.

🌍 Location: 3100 Monte Diablo Ave, Stockton, CA 95203 (Across from Louis Park)

📡 Connect internationally with fellow amateur radio operators, as we're among the few hundred ships participating globally! By contacting at least 15 ships during the weekend, participants can earn special awards and exchange commemorative postcards.

About the USS Lucid:

• History: Built in 1953, the USS Lucid is a remarkable wooden-hulled vessel crafted to sweep magnetic mines without triggering them. It has a rich history that includes crucial support during the Vietnam War.
• Restoration: After being repurposed as scrap and a storage facility, this magnificent ship is being carefully restored by dedicated volunteers.
• Unique Design: To remain “invisible” to magnetic mines, the Lucid features a distinctive wooden hull—an exceptional trait for a ship of its size.

📞 Experience radio operations firsthand or take part in on-air conversations! Visitors are welcome to explore the ongoing restoration efforts.

💵 Donations: As a non-profit, the Stockton Maritime Museum suggests a $10 donation for adults not participating in MSWE, directly supporting the ship's restoration. Join us in keeping the history of the Delta alive, one signal at a time! ✨
