Mushroom foraging, dinner, etc. on Bogesund with optional camping

Join us for a delightful day of mushroom foraging, blueberry picking, and enjoying a cozy dinner by the fire at the shelter! 🌲🔥

This beautiful location is just a short distance from Stockholm, making it perfect for a day out. There’s plenty of space for camping, and it’s less than 1 km from a bus stop. Check out some photos from last year's outing in late September: Smugmug pictures.

Getting There and Meeting Up:

The Karlslund shelter & fire place is located on the north side of Bogesundslandet. For more details, see the map and info here: Info-link-Karlslund.

Bus Stops:

• Ladvik or Nibble (Vaxholm)
• SL link: T-centralen to Nibble

Meeting Points:

• Find fellow hikers by 10:30 at Danderyds sjukhus bus stop F, take blue bus 670 (towards Vaxholm) to Nibble.
• Alternatively, meet at Nibble bus stop at 10:54, where the organizer will be present.
• You can also hike a bit longer from Ladvik bus stop (approximately 3 km) and scout along the trail.
• Or find us by the shelter around 12:00.

Plan:

After a short hike to the shelter, you can settle in and help gather firewood for lunch. Enjoy a meal at the fire place & shelter, then explore the trails in both westerly and easterly directions for mushrooms, blueberries, or even embark on the longer Dammtorpsrundan hike (approximately 13 km). Activities include bushcrafting, relaxing, swimming, and more! We can assist each other in identifying mushrooms upon returning to the shelter. Since this area is outside the nature reserve, collecting dead wood for firewood is allowed. 🌳🍽️
