Orchestral Eucharist – Trinity Sunday

Join us for a heartfelt choral service of Holy Communion as we celebrate Trinity Sunday, a cherished observance of the Christian doctrine representing God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit — an eternal community of love.

We are thrilled to have St Bride’s Choir accompanied by the St Bride’s Orchestra, performing Mozart’s Missa in honorem Sanctissimae Trinitatis in C K167. 🎼

🎵 MUSIC 🎵

Mozart composed this esteemed mass in 1773 in Salzburg, under the authority of the Prince-Archbishop Hieronymus Joseph Franz de Paula Graf Colloredo von Wallsee und Melz. Although Colloredo preferred liturgical music to be brief, this solemn mass includes the Credo rather than a missa brevis. It showcases the four-part choir, omitting solo singers, thus creating a vibrant musical tapestry that lasts longer than the prescribed twenty minutes.

Interestingly, though violas were excluded as per Colloredo’s preferences, the piece features four trumpets and timpani, adding to the festive ambiance. Notably, Mozart chose to title this remarkable setting himself.
