About Portal

Join us for a transformative dance journey where inner guidance and held space come together! This unique event is tailored for dancers who are already familiar with the 5Rhythms practice, offering an opportunity to explore and express themselves with minimal guidance. Expect a fluid experience that flows seamlessly from one 5Rhythms Wave to the next.

First-time dancers are welcome if you feel comfortable following your own movement without much instruction. If you prefer a more guided experience, we recommend joining one of our regular classes instead.

What is the 5Rhythms Practice?

The 5Rhythms is a dynamic movement practice designed to awaken the dancer within each of us, regardless of size, shape, age, or experience level. Founded by urban shaman Gabrielle Roth, this practice emphasizes personal exploration through dance rather than mastering specific steps. We will journey through five rhythms—flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical, and stillness—collectively experiencing the healing power of each rhythm.

A Word About Touch, Courtesy & Consent

By participating, you agree to help create a safe and respectful environment for all. Please engage non-verbally first by making eye contact before initiating any touch. In this space, we honor each dancer’s sovereignty, as some individuals may be deeply engaged in their own experience. If you’re not open to physical contact, kindly communicate that through gestures such as a Namaste or crossed arms.
