Power to the People: John & Yoko Live in NYC
It is little known that after leaving the legendary Beatles, John Lennon performed at only two full-length concerts. Both took place at the famous Madison Square Garden in downtown New York City, where Lennon performed alongside his wife, Yoko Ono.
The film, shot during two sold-out concerts at Madison Square Garden in 1972, was re-edited, restored, and remixed in 2026 by Lennon’s team, which is a five-time GRAMMY® Award winner.
These two concerts were John Lennon’s only full-length concerts after his departure from the Beatles and also the last two full-length concerts that John and Yoko ever performed together. The film features a number of well-known songs, including “New York City,” “Instant Karma! (We All Shine On),” “Imagine,” and “Mother.” It also features Yoko Ono’s work, such as “Don’t Worry Kyoko” and “Open Your Box,” as well as rousing renditions of “Come Together” and “Hound Dog.” The incredible encore “Give Peace a Chance” is also included, featuring special guests including Stevie Wonder, Sha Na Na, Melanie Safka, and many others.
