Early Days

Founded in 1973 by brothers Chris and Tino Troy in London, Praying Mantis emerged from a stagnant music scene to create a new sound, heralded by fans and critics alike. 🎸

The band's journey began, gaining traction thanks to support from DJ Neal Kay at North London’s premier hard rock venue, where classics like 'Captured City' and 'Lovers to the Grave' became crowd favorites. Along with fellow London rockers Iron Maiden, the band quickly captured the attention of the press, becoming central figures in the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM).

Their debut album, ‘Time Tells No Lies’, was a critical success, and the single ‘Cheated’ broke into the UK Top 40 in 1980. The band's collaborative spirit with Iron Maiden led to many memorable performances, further solidifying their legacy. 🎤🔥

The New Millennium

With ongoing transformations, Andy Burgess joined the band in 2007, enhancing their legendary guitar harmonies. The lineup continued to evolve with John Cuijpers and Hans in 't Zandt adding new energy.

‘Legacy’ showcased the fresh lineup in 2015, while their latest work, ‘GRAVITY’, has been received with fantastic reviews internationally, reaching impressive chart positions in the UK, Switzerland, and Japan. 🌍🎶
