Protest at Pico Rivera City Hall - Close the Manning Beef slaughterhouse for good

À propos de l'événement

Join us for a powerful protest at Pico Rivera City Hall as we advocate for the permanent closure of the Manning Beef slaughterhouse, the last cow slaughterhouse in Los Angeles County. 🐄💔

After a revealing undercover investigation by Animal Outlook, which sparked national attention including coverage in The New York Times, we now stand at a crucial crossroad. Despite the facility's past bankruptcy and owing over $25 million, the owner is attempting to reopen it under the name "Palermo Meats."

This is our chance to transform this space into something positive for our community instead of a symbol of violence and exploitation. 🚫🛠️ We need a strong public turnout to send a clear message: the slaughterhouse does not belong in Pico Rivera's future.

Our last protest gained significant media coverage from outlets like KTLA and the LA Times, proving that our voices matter. Let's elevate our efforts this time around!

Event Details:
🕔 5:30 PM – Protest begins at the front entrance (bottom of the steps)
🕕 6:00 PM – Planning Commission hearing starts (open to the public)

Bring your friends, family, and your voice! Your presence is essential to show that our community stands united against the reopening of this facility. Together, let’s champion compassion, accountability, and community values in Los Angeles. 🌍🤝

Let's make history together! See you there! ✊
