SENSE: Sensor Show & Tell
🌟 IMPORTANT: This workshop is exclusively for the NYU Community (active students, staff, and faculty). Please use your nyu.edu email when registering. Thank you!
📡 Discover the World of Sensors! Sensors can be found everywhere, from tracking pollution to powering smart devices. Engaging with them offers a unique insight into how we measure and comprehend our environment.
Join us for the second SENSE network gathering—an interactive show-and-tell session highlighting the electronics behind an air quality monitoring station. This event welcomes anyone curious about sensors, whether you're a beginner or have extensive experience in hardware design.
🎓 Josh Lee, a PhD candidate in the Urban Systems program, will showcase an air quality sensor he has been developing for his research. He will guide us through the crucial goals and constraints that influenced the project, sharing how those decisions shaped everything from component selections to circuit architecture.
💬 Collaborative Discussion: After the presentation, we will dive into a group discussion where participants can explore ways to enhance and evolve the system. Together, we'll examine the circuit, share ideas, and brainstorm future iterations. Whether you're keen on hands-on electronics, environmental sensing, or just curious about how real-world devices are built, this is a space for questions, insights, and inspiration.
🧠 Participants will walk away with practical knowledge, fresh perspectives, and valuable connections to support their own projects, regardless of their skill level.
🤝 SENSE (Sensor Engineering Network for Science and Education) is an emerging community of students and researchers at NYU dedicated to designing, building, and applying sensor systems. We unite individuals from diverse disciplines to share knowledge, collaborate, and propel sensor technologies for real-world impact.
