Shut Up & Write!™ West LA - Cafe Laurent - Mar Vista

Join us for a focused hour (or up to ninety minutes) of uninterrupted writing! 📝 Whether you're crafting fiction, non-fiction, poetry, memoir, PR, script writing, or any other genre—come connect with like-minded writers at Cafe Laurent, located at 12034 Venice Blvd., in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles.

We’ll gather at a table in the beautiful, covered patio, starting at 10:00 AM sharp. Arrive a few minutes early to grab a delicious treat or breakfast and settle in! 🥐☕

Schedule:

• 9:50 AM - Intros / Greetings / Get Settled
• 10:00 AM - Timer starts: write for a pre-determined amount of time
• Finish - Share a few sentences if you'd like, engage in discussions, or just continue writing if you're in the zone!

Late arrivals or early departures are totally fine—no need to apologize! We're a casual group and we're just happy to have you with us. No RSVP needed through Meetup—just show up! 🙌

Important Notes:

• NO INTERNET ACCESS at the cafe. Please prepare to use your own hotspot for any connectivity needs.
• The only cancellation reason is on ALL Monday holidays!

There’s a parking lot nearby at the corner of Grand View and Venice in front of the post office (this may be pricier than street parking), plus additional paid street parking available. Please support our hosts by making a purchase—everything is delicious, and the service is fantastic! 😊
