Diving deep into the essence of music, Slowgold returns in 2025 with a new album that strips away the excess, leaving only the core elements. This latest work presents lyrics at the forefront, adorned with simple yet clever arrangements. The aim has been to explore contrasts, embracing subtle shifts within the music.

Amanda Werne shares, “I've realized that I’ve been focused on simplifying and peeling back in my life in general. It’s about finding clearer contrasts that are easier to relate to. A lot of the music revolves around relationships, where you might initially see one side, but suddenly become aware of another—and perhaps another. The goal is to achieve clarity through simplicity.”

Just like her previous albums, Werne has penned the songs solo in a cabin in Skåne, devoid of electricity and running water. “I've spent countless moments writing there, often feeling quite scared of the dark! While the process remains similar to before, this time I've written with the intention that it's just me playing everything. This simplification is enriching; the authentic and true emerges, requiring a return to oneself.”
