Solemn Vespers & Te Deum for the 250th Anniversary of the United States

Join us for a special commemoration of the Semiquincentennial (250th anniversary) of the founding of the United States! Celebrate Vespers as it was experienced in 1776 at a Catholic chapel of the Thirteen Colonies.

📍 Location: St. Augustine Church, just a short walk from Independence Hall.

This significant event will take place on the feast of St. James, featuring music drawn from A Compilation of Litanies and Vespers, Hymns and Anthems — the very first Catholic hymnal published in the United States in 1787.

📜 A sermon will be delivered by Fr. Alan Bridges, as we conclude the evening with the majestic singing of Te Deum, a tradition cherished by George Washington and members of the Continental Congress during their first Independence Day celebration in a Catholic church.
