Support Group: Survivor Experiences

Support Group: Survivor Experiences

À propos de l'événement

Join us for a compassionate support group designed for individuals affected by the events of 10/25/2023. This is a safe space to explore themes such as survivor’s guilt, healing, and the journey of moving forward after trauma. We welcome anyone impacted, including family members, loved ones, witnesses, and community members, to address the emotional challenges that can arise from such experiences.

Survivor’s guilt can manifest in various ways, prompting feelings like:

  • 😔 “If I laugh or enjoy life, I’m betraying those we lost.”
  • 🤔 “I keep replaying what I could have done differently.”
  • 😟 “Other people had it worse than me.”
  • 😓 “I shouldn’t need support because I survived.”
  • 🤷‍♂️ “I don’t know how to carry both grief and gratitude.”
  • 😢 “I feel guilty for moving forward.”
  • 😕 “I feel disconnected from people who weren’t there.”
  • 🕰️ “Part of me feels stuck in that day.”

All emotions are welcome, whether they are recent, ongoing, or difficult to articulate. Sharing personal experiences is entirely optional, and participants are encouraged to engage at their own comfort level.

ASL interpretation is available upon request. Please reach out to info@maineresiliencycenter.org at least 48 hours in advance.
