TAP: Bamboo Forest Hike
Atlanta has a bamboo forest, and most people who live here have never seen it. Tucked along the Chattahoochee at the north end of East Palisades Trail, there's a dense grove of towering bamboo that feels like it belongs several thousand miles away. We're hiking out to it.
The route is about 4.3 miles round trip, out and back to the grove. AllTrails calls it moderate: a few hills, nothing technical, and we'll take roughly 2.5 hours at a relaxed pace with plenty of regrouping.
If you hike regularly, this is an easy afternoon. If you haven't hiked in years, you'll be fine. The whole point is the conversation on the way there. See you August 9th!
