These Flowers are Edible! A Sensory City Walk with a Chef
Have you ever wondered if the flowers adorning your neighborhood are edible? Join us for a unique sensory city walk through the vibrant Mission District, uncovering the overlooked plants that thrive in plain sight! 🌼👀
During this delightful experience, we'll intertwine stories of fine dining, dive into the timeless wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine regarding the summer season, and engage in the practice of mindfulness. This isn’t a foraging class or a plant-identification workshop, but rather a community gathering to savor, notice, and reconnect with nature in the city. So, tell us: what does your summer taste like? 😊
Special Guest: Chef Desmond He
A renowned chef born in Guangzhou, Chef Desmond He honed his skills in Michelin-starred kitchens across the U.S. including Jungsik, Alinea, Ever, and Smyth. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Today at Le Rizière, he merges his Cantonese heritage with North American influences to craft a contemporary interpretation of rural Guangdong flavors, showcasing a deep respect for seasonality, fermentation, and culinary traditions.
