Tuesday Jam - A contact improvisation dance jam CCAP

Welcome to our vibrant Contact Improvisation jam each Tuesday organized by the non-profit association Kontaktimprovisation Stockholm! 🎶

Each week, a dedicated jam host will manage the space and practicalities, ensuring a comfortable environment for everyone. Some weeks will feature a group warm-up led by the host, while on others, participants will warm up individually. Please note: there won't be an extensive guided introduction like our Sunday Jam. Occasionally, a theme might be proposed for the group to explore together.

Given that this jam lasts 2 hours, we aim to cultivate a focused space. To facilitate this, participants can arrive at two times: 17:45 and 18:45.

Price:

• 50 SEK per jam for members
• 100 SEK per jam for non-members

About Contact Improvisation

Contact Improvisation is a unique dance art form that encourages active listening and awareness of your movements in relation to your surroundings and others. 💃🕺 This dynamic practice allows us to engage in a fluid dance characterized by unpredictability that sharpens reflexes and fosters intriguing interactions.

Originating in the 1970s USA within experimental postmodern dance circles, it has bloomed into a global practice embraced by diverse communities.

About the Jam

Everyone is welcome to explore the dance space, in and out of contact! Whether dancing, observing, or simply being, feel free to enter or exit the dance as needed. During the jam, we keep chatter and social interactions outside the studio to maintain focus on the dance. Remember to pause your dance and move to the side if necessary. We dance barefoot in comfy clothes!

Membership

Kontaktimprovisation Stockholm was established in 2025 to offer members amazing opportunities to dance at low prices, contribute to community building, and delve deeper into the art of Contact Improvisation through regular practice.

There are three types of memberships available:

• 1000 SEK: Free entry to the Sunday jam for a full year.
• 700 SEK: Free entry to the Sunday jam for one term.
• 200 SEK: Support membership, no free entry but discounted member price for the Tuesday jam.
