Watts at Stake: Silicon Valley's Energy Crossroads

À propos de l'événement

California is at the crossroads of three major challenges: a surge in electricity demand due to data centers and electrification, rising costs that pressure both households and businesses, and increasing wildfire risks that are changing how utilities manage the grid.

Join us for a half-day energy forum hosted by Cal Alumni of Silicon Valley! This engaging event will feature:

  • Keynote Speaker: Professor Severin Borenstein, Faculty Director of the Energy Institute at Haas, who will share insights on how data centers affect electricity markets and propose actionable steps to lower energy costs.
  • Alumni Panel: A discussion featuring experts from the Cal community, including 🎤 Ella Foley Gannon (Moderator), 🎤 Anson Liang (Co-Founder of Jackery), 🎤 Jill W. Moraski (PhD, Energy Associate), and 🎤 Alex Luce (Co-founder and CEO, Amplify Computing).
  • Industry Presentation: Jay Leyno, Senior Director of Wildfire Mitigation at PG&E, will present on effective strategies and technologies aimed at mitigating wildfire risks.

Whether you're in energy, tech, policy, or simply a ratepayer intrigued by your electricity bill, this forum offers valuable insights and discussions you won't want to miss!
