"Your Safety is not Guaranteed" brings together the physical explorations of Ash Wilson’s research into landscape theory, community resilience, and climate anxiety while studying at the University of Victoria.
Tactile and materially humble, her sculptures—crafted from paper clay, natural pigments, and found debris—invite a critical reflection of her environment. Ash delves into how common psychological responses to fear and cultural myths impact our spaces and how we treat our land.

About The Artist

🎨 Ash Wilson (1991, Canada) is a mixed-media artist residing on the unceded land of the ləḱʷəŋən People, Victoria, BC. Her art blends critical theory with hands-on experimentation, embracing complexity and play as a form of resistance against binary thinking.
She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Distinction in Visual Arts Honours (2026) from the University of Victoria and will begin her Master of Fine Arts at the Slade School of Fine Art (UCL) in London, England in fall 2026.
