The audience layer for the cultural economy.

A consumer app the city plans its week in — and beneath it: an audience-intelligence engine that organizers, venues and sponsors pay for. Built AI‑native by two founders. Live across Sweden, the Nordics and Prague.

02 · The problem
The problem

The cultural economy runs on guesswork.

Organizers only see the turnstile

A CRM ends at the ticket purchase. What the audience does in the hours before, the days after, and the other 360 days of the year — invisible.

Sponsors pay for hunches

Club and festival partners buy reach without proof. Nobody can show whether the right audience was reached, or what the money did.

Consumers search in 14 places

Facebook, Instagram, ticketing platforms, municipal sites. No single surface shows everything happening — so most of it is never discovered.

03 · The solution
The solution

We don't sell discovery. We sell listening.

Somo is two layers. The consumer app is the funnel: it captures what the city actually wants — searches, saves, plans, clicks. The intelligence engine is the product: it tells the organizer who their audience is, and lets the same surface speak back to exactly that audience.

A funnel gathering the city's signals and radiating insight back

No competitor closes the loop: analytics tools listen but can't reach; ad networks reach but don't listen with intent-level depth. Somo does both, on the same audience identity.

04 · The engine at work
A real example — fully organic account

We never asked him a single question.

USER · Stockholm · 34 y/o · active 39 days · 475 views · 350 saved · 124 RSVPs · 161 ticket clicks · 0 forms filled in
The AI portrait, built from behavior alone: "Social Latin dancer — salsa & bachata at the core. Live music, nightlife & clubbing. A culture/theatre layer. Pays 300–500 kr (≈ €27–45) per ticket. Active mornings + evenings. Follows Fasching, Kollektivet Livet, Södra Teatern."
Profile silhouette built from interest symbols

The system read his actions and built a weighted taste map + a mathematical taste vector — granularity no survey captures. Same engine, per person, automatically: among our 20 most engaged users it separates the dancer from the sauna-goer from the comedy fan without a single questionnaire.

This is what a venue, club or sponsor buys: understanding per individual, instead of counting.

05 · The product
Built and in production — not a vision

The engine is already running.

254,460

precomputed insight types per organization, AI‑narrated
83
automated scrapers — every event AI‑enriched, quality-scored & embedded

What the organizer buys

  • See their audience — cross-interests, neighborhoods, pricing sweet spot, timing, latent audience
  • Show up where the city plans — pre-populated presence, nothing to set up
  • Reach the exact segment — push/email to those who showed interest, without Meta

Already in the partner lane

  • Škoda X / VW Group: active NDA, Partner API live, POC brief for citymove map integration delivered
  • Semantic search (embeddings + hybrid), personalized feed
  • Ticketing complete in the codebase — deliberately switched off until the leverage exists
06 · Growth
New users per week — summer 2026

The curve has turned sharply upward.

CPI in paid test (Meta, July) · ≈ €6 per retained user

Signups are logged-in accounts from the production database (bot-immune). Context: 2,932 registered in total, 1,151 in the last 30 days, MAU 1,382, 186k Google clicks/28 days to event/venue pages. Until July, acquisition was essentially 100% organic; a paid channel is now being tested at small scale with the numbers above.

07 · The market
The market

Nobody has won this category yet.

$1.1T+
global events industry — live spending at all-time highs post-pandemic (industry estimate)
€500M
Nordic SAM, ticketing + SaaS (estimate)
0
platforms sitting on both the consumer signal and the organizer's channel back

Why now

  • AI enables solo-scale — one founder ships what used to take a team; first‑mover in AI-native audience intelligence
  • Fragmented field — Eventbrite stagnant, Luma niche, Billetto regional; nobody owns the intelligence layer
  • The Nordics = the perfect launchpad — high digital adoption, Swish/BankID, small enough to dominate

Expansion logic

  • City by city: Stockholm density first — 5,000 MAU in one city beats 20,000 spread thin
  • Born global: 9+ languages live, multi-currency, same engine per market (Prague is the proof)
  • The API layer opens non-event revenue: mobility (Škoda), tourism, municipalities

08 · Business model
The business model

A floor in subscriptions. A ceiling in sponsor data.

BoostPaid visibility per event, honestly measured. All tiers, including Free.≈ €4–18 each
Event PassEvent-scoped intelligence, pay as you go — no subscription, pay per event you want to understand.≈ €27/event, pay as you go
Sponsor activationsAudience-fit reports + closed-loop activation chains the organizer resells to their sponsors. Largest per account.≈ €900–90K+/yr per account*

* Illustrative model per account type (venue → festival → top-flight football club) — to be calibrated against signed deals. Ticketing (a 3.5% engine with Stripe/Swish) is fully built and deliberately dormant — pure optionality. Price increase (€45→€53) after 20 customers, with a grandfather clause.

09 · Distribution
Distribution

Somo isn't sold. It's claimed.

The Google Business Profile model for the events world: the organizer's page already exists — events scraped, audience measured, view pre-populated. The value is visible before we ask for anything. No sales meetings, no demos, zero founder time per customer.

1 · The funnel

186k Google clicks/28 days land on the event and venue pages — tens of thousands of unmanned "sales meetings" every week.

2 · Claim → aha

"Your venue? See your audience →". The second after an approved claim: their own events, unique visitors, ticket clicks. No empty states.

3 · Purchase in the product

The weekly insight email with their own numbers is the salesperson. The upgrade to Somo Pro happens when the numbers have already made the argument.

The consequence for the economics: B2B CAC is engineered toward zero. A product priced around €45 a month can't afford sales meetings — so we built them away.

10 · The moat
Why we win

Three layers no competitor can stack.

The only vantage point

Eventbrite has transactions without behavior. Facebook has social without purchase intent. A CRM sees nothing outside its ecosystem. Somo sits where consumer behavior, cross-organizer attribution and platform aggregation meet — simultaneously.

The aggregation moat

20+ sources, 83 scrapers, a quality pipeline — years to replicate. And neutrality is the wedge: we always link to the source and take no margin that distorts ranking. No source has a reason to block us.

Network effects on the data layer

Every new user and organizer makes the intelligence more valuable — irreversibly. The consumer surface never has to beat TikTok; it only has to capture genuine signal.

A trust detail: when we discovered in July that a bot farm had inflated our web traffic, we blocked it the same day and restated every public number downward. The figures in this deck are the honest ones.

11 · Capital efficiency
AI-native = a different cost curve

Built by one person. Run for under €900/mo.

The entire platform — 117 API controllers, 878 handlers, 372 migrations, 145 Lambda functions, apps for iOS/Android/web in 9+ languages — was built by one founder working AI‑native, at a pace of 7–9 backend commits per day.

83
scrapers + AI pipeline running themselves, with automated health monitoring
2
people. No consultants, no agencies, no technical debt owed to outsiders.

This isn't just low cost — it's proof of the execution speed the capital buys: every krona goes to distribution and density, not to catching up.

12 · The team
The team

Two founders, complementary surfaces.

Philip Sindi-Lindgren — co-founder, CEO & product

Single-handedly built the entire platform AI-native: backend, three client apps, the data factory, the AI pipeline. Owns product, tech and the self-serve distribution.

Naveed Gill — co-founder, business & partnerships

Came in through the product — started as the organizer side's most demanding test user. Holds the network in Stockholm's event and venue scene; owns partnerships, the sponsor business and venue relations.

13 · The ask
What we're raising
€35K–90K

18 months of runway to self-serve revenue — the capital goes to density and distribution, not to building the product (it exists).

Milestone 1 · Q3

The self-serve loop complete: claim as a product surface + the weekly insight email. 20 paying via self-serve.

Milestone 2 · Q4

The loop optimized on conversion data + the first sponsor case end‑to‑end. 50 paying.

Milestone 3

Stockholm density → Gothenburg/Malmö. €18.5K MRR = both founders full-time.
