2026 Okaga Summer-Wind Celebration: Dakota Summer Teachings

Join us for the Okáǧa Summer-Wind Celebration on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 5:00–9:00 PM at the Battle Creek Park Pavilion! Located at 2401 Upper Afton Rd E, Maplewood, MN 55119, this event welcomes the invigorating Dakota Summer-Wind with an evening filled with teachings, contemporary Indigenous artistry, music, and community.

✨ More than just an event, the Okáǧa Summer-Wind Celebration is a gathering celebrating the winds of growth, creativity, and transformation. Through song, dance, storytelling, art, and our connection to the natural world, we’ll honor Dakota culture while offering a space for everyone to learn together.

• 5:30 PM: Flute Performance & Courtship Teachings with Dakota Wind Goodhouse
• 6:30 PM: Dakota Text – An Ella Deloria Puppet Rendition by Graci
• 7:00 PM: Hoop Dance Performance with Micco (Sampson Bros.)
• 8:00 PM: Dakota Plant Walk with Tanáǧidaŋ Tó Wiŋ & Dawi Westerman
