Annual NSW Community Growing Conference

Info sull'evento

Join us at the Riverwood Community Centre for a vibrant day of learning, connection, and inspiration at the Annual NSW Community Growing Conference! 🌼

Presented by Community Gardens Australia in partnership with Grow It Local and Permaculture Australia, this one-day gathering unites community gardeners, volunteers, coordinators, and local food enthusiasts from across the region.

We’re thrilled to have the beloved gardening advocate Costa Georgiadis from ABC’s Gardening Australia as our MC for the day, guiding a lively program full of speakers, workshops, and engaging conversations focused on building stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities through food. 🌍

Event Highlights:

  • Welcome to Country
  • Keynote by Darryl Nichols from Grow It Local on the power of growing food together.
  • Practical sessions on community composting with Ashley Wearne from LOCCAL.
  • Short workshops hosted by researchers from NSW Health and the University of Sydney.
  • Insightful session with Nevin Sweeney on managing microclimates in your garden.

Enjoy delicious food from the Community Kitchen included in your ticket, and take ample opportunities throughout the day to connect with fellow community food growers, exchange ideas, and forge new partnerships. Whether you're part of an established garden, working on a local food project, or just starting out, this event is a fantastic opportunity to acquire practical skills and be part of a movement that strengthens local food communities across NSW.

Come along for a day of excitement, learning, and inspiration — and be part of a movement promoting stronger, more resilient food communities everywhere! 🌿

Tickets available here.

Thank you to our sponsors: WaterUps, Canterbury Bankstown Council, and PiP Magazine for their generous support! 🙏
