About the Band:
Formed in Newcastle/Gateshead in 2016, Archipelago is a dynamic trio comprising:

• Faye MacCalman (Composer, Saxophone, Clarinet, Synth, Vocals)
• John Pope (Bass, Effects)
• Christian Alderson (Drums, Percussion)

Known for their unique sound that defies categorization, Archipelago delivers a raw and fully charged musical experience. Their album, Echoes To The Sky, received 4 stars and was praised by Kevin Le Gendre on BBC Radio 3 as “original, evocative and at times, haunting.” 🎼

With a spotlight on them from the BBC Introducing program, they were also highlighted at Latitude Festival 2019 on Tom Robinson’s BBC6 Music show. NARC Magazine celebrated them as a “truly remarkable unit.”

Faye's artistry draws inspiration from legends like Joni Mitchell, Don Cherry, and PJ Harvey, creating an ever-changing soundscape that ebbs and flows with every track. 🌊
