Join us for an inspiring panel discussion presented in collaboration with CuraArt during NYC Spring Art Week! This engaging conversation takes its cue from the work of Louisa Chase, featured in Berry Campbell Gallery’s exhibition The Eighties.

Artists are more than mere observers; they transform emotions, memories, and dreams into visual expressions. Through their use of gesture, color, composition, and other elements, they make their inner experiences known.

Louisa Chase's works offer a deep exploration of landscape as both a physical space and an emotional journey, prompting questions about what pushes artists to express their internal worlds. How do intuition, memory, and vulnerability influence their creative processes? How do audiences perceive and interpret the emotional narratives woven within art?

Moderated by Shakira Polite, this discussion will feature an esteemed panel, including:

  • Larissa Bailiff: A New York-based art historian with over two decades of experience, specializing in modern and contemporary art, and founder of the digital platform ARTSMUSE.
  • Amanda Garcia, LICSW: Founder of AGarcia & Co. | Therapeutic Studio, a licensed clinical social worker dedicated to empowering individuals through mental health support.
  • Schwanda Rountree: An attorney and independent art consultant, deeply involved in placing contemporary art within prestigious collections and museums.

Following the panel, guests are invited to enjoy a curator-led walkthrough of the exhibition. You can also continue your afternoon exploring surrounding Chelsea galleries, with recommendations provided to those who register.

Coffee & light breakfast bites will be served!
