About Nirbhai (nep) Singh Sidhu:
Nirbhai is a Toronto-based interdisciplinary artist focused on labor-based knowledge production and Sikh interiority. For this exhibition, he will showcase an innovative body of drawings, sculptures, multimedia works, and paintings that embody Simran—a visual journey to expand the mind while transcending the autobiographical self.
His previous works explore themes of sound and silence, revealing a deep connection between social and cellular experiences, as seen in works like A Disappearance Potential and The PIGG500 Security and Leisure Enhancement Console.
About the Exhibition: UNSTRUCK MELODY
A collaboration between Nirbhai and without SHAPE without FORM, this exhibition was first showcased at the 2023 London Design Festival at the V&A South Kensington. Through large-scale tapestries, mixed-media paintings, and film, it delves into Sikh teachings via the interconnected practices of Simran, Seva, and Sangat—inviting visitors on a transformative journey of the mind. The exhibition's name is derived from Anhad Shabad, encapsulating a deeper pathway to awareness accessed through focused listening.
