Birding at Lakewood

Join Lakewood as we welcome back educator Amy Simso Dean for an informative and peaceful birding walk. This activity is fun for all ages and open to birders with all levels of experience, and binoculars are provided.This is a walking event. We strongly encourage wearing comfortable, close-toed shoes for this slow-paced walk on easy to moderate terrain. The walk is approximately 1.5 miles. Seating is not available.All levels of experience are welcome. The event begins with a brief lesson on technique and local bird diversity, followed by a group walk to observe and learn about birds.This event takes place near scenic Jo Pond (Lakewood’s onsite lake), located about a half mile from the main gate.
