Building a Career in the Energy Transition, with Dr. Sergio Fuentes
Crash Course Berlin, skip the fluff.
We bring in people who've actually done it, to share what really matters, straight to the point.
This session: Building a Careers in the Energy Transition and Sustainability, or where the jobs and the money are actually heading. It's one of the biggest shifts of our generation, and it's opening up a whole new range of careers around decarbonization and renewables. But how do you actually break in? Which roles are out there, what skills really matter, and what does the day-to-day look like once you're in? Sergio will break down where the real opportunities are right now and the mistakes to avoid when starting out, with stories ranging from renewable energy projects in the Middle East to affordable housing modeling in Estonia. We'll also wrap up with a hands-on exercise to put it all into practice.
Our speaker, Dr. Sergio Fuentes, holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering and has built his career at the intersection of academia, industry, and consulting, all driven by a passion for energy policy. He spent three years at McKinsey as an analyst in Renewable Energies, helping utilities across Europe and the Middle East build decarbonization and digital transformation strategies and integrate renewables into the grid. His research focused on the energy security of national power systems during the energy transition.
