Dive into a sonic journey that captures the industrial grime and sun-soaked glow of Los Angeles. Casket Cassette, a project by Constant Williams, intertwines euphoria and melancholy, reflecting the complexities of the human condition.

With a sound that is dark yet danceable, this performance draws inspiration from various genres including post-punk, darkwave, new wave, EBM, synthpop, and alternative music, creating a nostalgic yet fresh experience.

The name pays homage to a poignant childhood memory of Williams, who recalls his father recording a live song onto a cassette, placing it in his grandfather’s casket during the burial. This haunting image influences his songwriting, which weaves together themes of loss, addiction, heartbreak, recovery, and moments of humor and resilience.

Currently residing in Los Angeles, Williams earned his MFA in Poetry from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop in 2024. Look out for new music from Casket Cassette through 2026, and catch their Wave Gotik Treffen debut overseas in May!
