Kick off Christmas morning surrounded by nature with East Coast Hikers on a festive 5.5-mile hike through the stunning forest trails of Newport News Park. This is a delightful way to soak in some fresh air, enjoy exercise, and celebrate the holiday with friends before heading back to family festivities.
✨ Dress Festively! Feel free to wear a Santa hat, an ugly Christmas sweater, or any favorite festive hiking gear for a fun group photo!

🥾 Distance: 5.5 Miles
🌲 Terrain: Mostly flat forest trails with a few gentle rolling hills.
🚶 Pace: Casual social pace.

Planned Route

We’ll take a scenic loop using the White Oak Nature Trail and Wynn’s Mill Loop, enjoying wooded trails, boardwalks, bridges, cypress swamps, marsh overlooks, and breathtaking reservoir views as we circle back to the Discovery Center.
