😤 The Problem
Running a community is far more difficult than it appears from the outside. The tools that organisers depend on are costly, fragmented, user-hostile, and rarely designed with the actual organiser in mind:
- Meetup.com constantly pushes upsells onto your members
- Slack becomes unaffordable once your community grows
- Sponsorship & finances have no clear starting point
- Speakers fall through the cracks with no proper pipeline
- New members can't find you in the first place
Most community organisers are quietly stitching together workarounds — custom scripts, open-source tools, shared spreadsheets — and losing hard-won institutional knowledge every time a volunteer moves on.

This hack day brings together community organisers, developers, and platform builders for a full day of collaborative problem-solving and hands-on building at Newspeak House.

Participants will collectively map the problem space, self-organise into teams around the most compelling challenges, and spend the bulk of the day actually building things. You're free to switch projects, merge with another team, or spin up something entirely new at any point.
