Connecting to Ancestry Through Weaving

Info sull'evento

🌿 Join us for a unique art therapy workshop! Led by the talented Alex Galván, MSW, LSW (she/they), explore the art of sustainable weaving using recycled fibers and cardboard looms. This workshop invites you to reconnect with ancestral land practices through creative reuse.

🎨 What to Expect: Create beautiful small wall hangings, coasters, or bookmarks while we delve into emotional alchemy and support one another. Drawing inspiration from Alex's experiences in Oaxaca, Mexico and Ghana, this is a space for healing and community.

🧶 All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring along any fabric or yarn that holds special meaning for you!

🕋 Flexible Timing: Given that this workshop occurs during Ramadan, we will accommodate flexible start and end times. There will also be comfortable spaces for prayer and plenty of snacks!

📍 Location: Casa Cactus, 4506 N Elston Ave, Chicago.

💌 Workshop Details: Learn more here!
