Contra dance: Cheryl Graubart with Raven & Goose

Join us for an exhilarating evening of Contra Dance led by Cheryl Graubart, featuring live music from Raven & Goose (Corwin Zekley on fiddle and Grace Fellows on piano)!

📍 Location: Second floor, First United Methodist Church, 625 Hamilton Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94301

🕖 Time: Dance from 7 PM to 10 PM, with a free beginners’ lesson at 6:30 PM!

💵 Cost: Pay what you can (recommended $15 for BACDS members, $20 for non-members, $10 for students). Purchase your tickets here!

What is Contra Dancing?
Contra dancing features live music and long lines of dancers, making it a fantastic way to socialize and move! Each dance is called for all levels—perfect for beginners but fun for experienced dancers too, allowing you to let loose (think twirls and skips!) around basic steps.

Can I join without a partner?
Absolutely! Dances attract a mix of solo dancers and couples, ensuring a vibrant atmosphere where everyone switches partners throughout the evening.

Feeling Hesitant?
Worry not! Every event kicks off with a 30-minute free beginner’s lesson. If dancing isn’t your vibe, you’ll still be in downtown Palo Alto, surrounded by delicious food, music, and desserts—what’s not to love? 🍰🎶

What Should I Bring?

• Comfortable, clean, non-marking shoes 👟
• Breathable clothing (it might get warm!) 👕
• A mask (optional, N95/KN95 recommended for health) 😷
• Cash for the dance or pre-purchase online
