Experience a captivating documentary about Zhao, a man from DeFen, Shenzhen, who dedicates his life to reproducing Vincent Van Gogh’s masterpieces. Zhao’s journey began when he dreamt of copying Van Gogh, an aspiration that transformed his life and provided for his family. 🖌️

As he learns from the Dutch artist’s brushstrokes, Zhao paints more Van Goghs than Van Gogh himself. Driven by inspiration, he embarks on a quest to visit the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. Upon returning to China, he embraces creativity by crafting his first original works. Don’t miss this thought-provoking documentary that explores his artistic journey!

本作は、中国・深センにある「油絵の村」大芬（ダーフェン）で、フィンセント・ファン・ゴッホの絵画を模写して生計を立てる男性、趙（チャオ）の人生と創作活動を追ったドキュメンタリーです。ゴッホの絵を模写するというアイデアを夢の中で思いつき、それがきっかけで人生が一変した経緯を彼自身が語ります。巨匠の筆致から学びながら、自身と子供たちの生活を支える趙と、オランダの画家であるゴッホとの間に生まれた不思議な関係性が描かれます。今や本人の生涯制作数を上回るほどのゴッホ作品を描いてきた趙。憧れの画家への思いを深め、その存在に少しでも近づこうと、彼はアムステルダムのゴッホ美術館を訪れる計画を立てます。中国への帰国後、模写から「創造」へと踏み出したいという思いを抱いた彼は、ついに自身初となるオリジナル作品の制作に取り組み始めます。繊細かつ深い思索を誘うこのドキュメンタリーを通じて、彼の旅路を一緒に見守りましょう。

上映後には、作品についての語り合いの時間を設けます。
