Energetic: A Cooperative Board Game
🎉 After all the heat and smoke, would you like to learn how to solve climate change in a fun and engaging way?
Energetic is a cooperative board game designed to teach energy literacy and is used at universities worldwide, including Carnegie Mellon, Fordham, and Vanderbilt. 🌍
🌟 Featured in the New York Times and on NY1, this game has been praised for its predictive capabilities since its development in 2018. It’s currently updated to reflect data from 2026 to 2040.
🛠️ In this game, you’ll take on roles as an Activist, a Politician, an Entrepreneur, and an Engineer. Together, you will balance your budget, manage grid stability, and maintain public opinion to:
- Keep the lights on 🔌
- Win elections 🗳️
- Overcome climate impacts 🌧️
- Build 16 gigawatts of clean power for the city 🌞
Join us to practice building a zero-carbon New York City! Many participants find learning to be a therapeutic experience. Five facilitators will guide you through the game.
Meet Your Facilitators:
- Elbert Gong: Host and software engineer at Google. Discovered Energetic at a DSA game night and has been facilitating since.
- Isil Akgul: Architect at Corgan, expert in urban sustainability, and creative director for Energetic.
