Fiber Art: Traditional Basketweaving

Join us for a hands-on six-week course in traditional basket making, led by experienced basket weaver Phylis Sixkiller. 🌿

In this course, you'll:

• Learn foundational weaving techniques using natural reeds.
• Create a small basket with a prepared “starter bottom” to build confidence.
• Design and weave a larger basket from scratch, guided in shaping, pattern building, and finishing your unique piece.

We'll also visit galleries to explore historic and contemporary basketry, inspiring us to think about how form, pattern, and material can convey personal meaning while honoring traditional practices.
