💦 Experience Tokyo’s Iconic Summer Festival: Fukagawa Hachiman Festival (Water Festival)!
Join us as we visit the Fukagawa Hachiman Festival, one of the Three Great Festivals of Edo (Tokyo)!
With a history of about 380 years, this traditional festival is also known as the “Water Festival”. The highlight is the spectacular mikoshi (portable shrine) procession, where energetic chants fill the streets as the shrine is carried through the neighborhood. Along the route, people splash water on the mikoshi and its carriers to pray for good health and to help everyone beat the summer heat.
☕ The event starts at a café!
Before heading to the festival, we will enjoy English conversation and international exchange at the café in a relaxed atmosphere.
There will also be a short self-introduction session before departure, so first-time participants and solo travelers can feel comfortable joining.
After enjoying some time at the café, we will head to the Fukagawa Hachiman Festival and experience the famous Water Festival together.
The sound of traditional festival music, the excitement of the mikoshi procession, and water splashing high into the air create an unforgettable atmosphere that represents the true spirit of Tokyo’s summer.
Let’s enjoy Japanese traditional culture and the energetic atmosphere of this amazing festival together!
Don’t miss this chance to experience one of Tokyo’s most exciting summer traditions! 🎆✨
